Melon liqueur is a drink prepared from alcohol and melon juice.
The most well-known brand is the Japanese Midori. Initially, the drink was produced exclusively in Japan until 1987, and now in the United States, Mexico, and France. And the liqueur made by the French is sweeter than the original Japanese version. Midori translates as 'green' in Japanese.
Due to its cloyingly sweet taste, melon liqueur is rarely consumed straight. It is used in the preparation of numerous cocktails. The density and unique colour of this liqueur are suitable for making layered recipes.
