Kahlúa is the most famous liqueur of this type in the world. Pedro Domecq started producing Kahlúa in 1936. In the Aztec language spoken in Mexico before the Spanish colonization, Kahlúa means 'House of the Acolhua people'.

Varieties of Kahlúa : Kahlúa - a traditional drink with a strength of 20%; Kahlúa Especial - a strong 36% liqueur; Kahlúa Mocha - a variant with vanilla and dark chocolate; Kahlúa French Vanilla - liqueur with a vanilla flavor; Kahlúa Hazelnut - a drink with roasted forest nut.
