It is customary to consider the beginning of cocktails production in 1941, when the famous American company 'Heublein' bought the rights to produce 'Smirnoff' vodka. The idea came from company employee John Martin, who shared it with company owner Rudolph Kanett. At the same time it allowed to solve the problem of overproduction of ginger beer, which became part of this cocktail. It began to be served in Los Angeles restaurants in 1942, and in 1943 it was also consumed in neighbouring states (especially in Las Vegas casinos and other big cities). Due to the war, production was stopped, but resumed in 1947. In order to attract visitors, in the early days the cocktail was served in original metal mugs. At the same time, the owners of the brand made a successful promotion to the masses using the slogan 'It will knock the spirit out of you'. It is believed that the 'Moscow Mule' symbolises the Trojan horse that entered the American culture.
