Aperol

  • Category: Liqueurs
  • Volume: 11%

Aperol is an Italian aperitif of orange-red color with a bitter taste. The drink has a strength of 11%, except for Germany, where this parameter is 15%. This is done to avoid the standard for using multi-use duct for drinks that have a strength of less than 15%. Oranges, rhubarb, fruits of the quinine tree and other herbs growing in the north of Italy are used for its manufacture. Aperol was originally produced by the Barbieri company, located in Padua (Italy), but is now produced by the Campari company. Although Aperol was originally created in 1919, it did not become successful until the end of World War II. Aperol is the basis for some popular cocktails, including the widely known in Europe aperol-spritz cocktail.
