Ingredients

Aperol 40 ml

Pour all components into a glass with ice and stir.

Garnish with half a wedge of lemon or orange.

According to one version, spritz appeared in Venice in the middle of the 19th century when Venice was part of the Austrian Empire. The cocktail was invented by Austrian military and originally was a mix of wine and sparkling water.

According to another version, the beverage appeared during the First World War, when the armed forces of Austro-Hungary took over the north of the Venetian region during the advance. According to this legend, we also owe the appearance of the drink to the Austrian military, who diluted local wines, among which prosecco predominated, with mineral water. It is possible that the spritz originated from military personnel from the Austrian region of Wachau, where the tradition of diluting wine with sparkling water has existed since ancient times.
