Burning Dr. Pepper

Pour Amaretto into a shot glass.

Pour a layer of strong rum on top.

Take the shot glass and place it in a larger glass.

Pour beer into the space between the glasses up to the level of the shot glass.

Light the drink in the shot glass.

Let the rum burn a little.

Put it out and drink immediately.

Despite the name, the cocktail does not include the popular American non-alcoholic drink Dr Pepper, but they taste a bit similar. Hence the name of the cocktail. There are two versions regarding the time and place of the cocktail's creation. According to the first one, the drink was invented in the Ptarmigan Club bar in Bryan, Texas in the 1960s. According to another version, the cocktail was created by American poet Dave Brinks in the Gold Mine Saloon in New Orleans in the mid-1980s.
