This cocktail recipe was invented in the Tommy’s Mexican Restaurant in San Francisco in 1987. It was invented by Julio - the son of the restaurant founder Tommy Bermejo. The main difference from the original "Margarita" is the use of agave syrup or agave nectar as a sweetener instead of Cointreau.
