Negroni

Fill the rox (old-fashioned) with ice.

Pour all the ingredients into the glass and stir them thoroughly with a bar spoon.

Garnish the glass with an orange slice.

It is believed that this drink was prepared for Count Camillo Negroni, a Florentine aristocrat, who ordered an 'Americano' cocktail at the Cafe Casoni bar in Florence and asked for gin to be added. This was in 1919. In the same year, the count decided to open his own business, which was named Antico Negroni. Later, in 1947, the cocktail received its current name.
