Planters Punch

Pour all the ingredients except Angostura into a shaker filled with ice cubes. Shake well. Pour through a strainer into a glass filled with crushed ice. Splash Angostura bitter on top. Decorate with a cocktail cherry and a slice of pineapple.

The term 'punch' was born in Jamaica. In the early 17th century, Jamaicans quenched their thirst with a mixed drink consisting of five components: rum, sugar, lemon juice, tea, and hot water. This is what locals initially called punch ('punch' translates from Hindi as 'five'). In 1655, punch was imported to England and spread across Europe.
