Strain into a highball.

Garnish with pineapple and cocktail cherry.

According to legend, the cocktail was created by a bartender named Ngiam Tong Boon, who worked at the Raffles Hotel. Allegedly, the drink was invented by him specifically for a young officer who decided to treat a charming young lady.
